Look through several academic scholarships. These scholarships are often awarded by colleges as a way to attract talented students. Read about eligibility and deadline of each scholarship.
Full Tuition Academic Scholarships

Nearly 200 full tuition scholarships are offered each year by enrollment services. Candidates for commonwealth scholarship must be enrolled to MSU as an entering freshman with a minimum admission index of 600; and be a legal resident of Kentucky; and have a minimum 20 ACT composite; and agree to maintain continuous residency is campus housing. Application process is not required. Students are automatically considered for these scholarships upon acceptance to Morehead State University. 


Regents' Scholarship and Chancellor's Achievement Scholarships

The number of awards depends on the quality of the applications and varies each year. Awards are up to full cost-of-attendance, but are at least full tuition. Financial aid office proposes the scholarships.
Selection is based on comprehensive review of applicant pool to find out student's strength and breadth of academic preparation. Test scores and grades are also required.
University of California Application for Undergraduate Admission and Scholarships is taken into consideration. The Regents' Scholarship program provides priority registration, enrollment into the campuswide honors program, entrance into summer research programs and four years of on-campus guaranteed housing.

McNair Scholars and Carolina Scholars
90 full tuition scholarships are given each year, 50 for high school seniors from South Carolina and 40 for high school seniors from the rest of the country. Some scholarships can include additional money towards room and board, books and supplies. The Admissions Office offers the scholarships. Candidates for the award must maintain 3.0 or higher GPA. The awards are renewable for a total of four years.
25 South Carolina students are named Carolina Scholars and get a stipend of $10,000 per year. 20 out-of-state students are named McNair Scholars and receive stipends of $12,000 per year in addition to receiving a tuition reduction to in-state rates. The 25 South Carolina finalists who are not included to Carolina Scholars are offered the Carolina Scholars Finalist Scholarship valued at $7,000 per year. The 20 out-of-state finalists who are not included to McNair Scholars are offered the McNair Scholars Finalist Scholarship of $8,000 per year as well as a tuition reduction to in-state rates.
The choice is based on superior scholastic ability and achievement, leadership potential, and character. Financial need is not taken into consideration. Typical candidates are at the top of their class and demonstrate SAT scores above 1300. Except the application for admission a separate application is required. All credentials and applications must be presented by December 1.
